Mileage Discrepancy Check
We compare available mileage records across electronic modules. Discrepancies warrant further checks but do not by themselves prove odometer tampering.
Thematic AI illustration
We compare mileage-related records available from a vehicle's electronic modules. The aim is to identify possible discrepancies, not to promise the exact true mileage of every vehicle.
Where mileage information may be stored
Depending on the model, mileage data may be present in the instrument cluster, engine unit, gearbox or other modules. Not every module stores a mileage value, and access varies by vehicle.
Where service or inspection history is available, we may compare it too. Differences alone do not prove tampering: replacement modules, recording errors or system design can also explain them.
How the check works
- We identify the vehicle and available information sources.
- We read supported records and compare the values.
- We explain discrepancies and the limits of the available evidence.
- We provide a summary of the modules checked and findings.
Additional checks on a removed module
Memory reading with a programmer may be possible on certain supported units. This does not guarantee that mileage is stored there or that the car's precise history can be recovered.
When it can help
Before buying a used car, when its history seems inconsistent, or when you want an additional check after purchase.
Features
- Comparison of accessible mileage records from supported modules
- Identification of possible differences between available readings
- Where possible: additional checks on a removed control unit
- Comparison with available service-history records
- Summary of checked modules and findings
